This handcrafted Jianshui clay teapot (Style 4) is a refined hexagon-shaped piece made from premium black clay, created entirely by hand using traditional pinching techniques. The teapot features six sharply defined facets and a matching hexagonal lid, with no molds used at any stage—an approach that demands exceptional control and experience.

The surface is decorated with a calligraphy collage–inspired motif, resembling aged manuscript fragments, paired with carved calligraphy and seal-style stamps. These details are executed using the traditional yin-carving and yang-filling technique, where engraved lines are filled with contrasting pottery to achieve clarity, depth, and permanence. The result is a surface rich in cultural texture, blending visual rhythm with literary expression.

Due to the geometric complexity of the hexagon form and the precision required for inlay carving, this teapot has a low firing success rate. Even highly skilled artisans are only able to complete a very limited number each year, making each finished piece especially rare and suitable for long-term collection.

With an approximate capacity of 190ml, this teapot is ideal for gongfu tea brewing, offering balanced heat retention and a smooth, controlled pour. It is well suited for daily use, refined gifting, or serious ceramic and tea ware collection.
