This handcrafted Jianshui clay teapot (Style 3) is made from refined black clay and shaped in a classic hexagon form. The body features six hand-defined facets and a matching hexagonal lid, all shaped entirely by hand without the use of molds—reflecting the high level of skill required to produce this form.

One side of the teapot is decorated with a floral motif, while the opposite side features carved calligraphy and a seal-style stamp. Both sides are created using the traditional yin-carving and yang-filling technique, where engraved lines are filled with contrasting pottery to achieve crisp detail and lasting visual depth. This dual-sided design creates a balanced composition that blends imagery, writing, and form.

Due to the complexity of the hexagon structure and the inlay process, this teapot has a low firing success rate. Even experienced artisans can complete only a very limited number each year, making every finished piece especially rare. Subtle variations in shape and surface are natural results of true handmade craftsmanship and contribute to its collectible character.

With an approximate capacity of 200ml, this teapot is ideal for gongfu tea brewing, offering stable heat retention and smooth, controlled pouring. It is well suited for daily tea practice, refined gifting, or serious ceramic collection.
